Favorite Christmas Memories

  I dunno…Do I have any?
The only reason the thought occurred to me was because of a song I heard, "Stop Giving Me Crap For Christmas."
Ah, memories.  Many, many years ago, when I was younger and believed that I was happily married, the wife and I were shopping near the holiday season.  Target, if I remember correctly.  There was a large display in the middle of the floor:  a twelve-foot by twelve-foot area stacked high with the item that everyone had to have that year, a ridiculous stuffed parrot that would repeat everything it heard.
Voice actived.  Record noise, replay noise.  What fun.  The display had hundreds of them, all turned on.  I walked up to one and said, "Shut up."
"Shut up," it repeated.  One near it said it also.
I did it again, louder.  About three or more repeated it.  Oh, this is fun–
The wife rolled her eyes and walked away, pushing the cart.  Times like this is when inspiration strikes.  I strolled around the whole display, getting into the faces of the furry electronic parrots, and started yelling, "SHUT UP!  SHUT UP!  SHUT UP!"  I went around quickly, yelling it to all of them.
A few seconds later I walked away triumphantly to a chorus of electronic squawking "Shut up" that went on for about a minute after I left.   Everyone was amused by it, except, of course, my wife…and several employees.
